PBN Footprint Avoidance Protocol
Footprint = death for a PBN. Every dimension must be unique across the network.
Registration Diversity
- 3-5+ different registrars minimum (Namecheap, GoDaddy, Dynadot, Google Domains, etc.)
- Never register all PBN domains same day — spread over weeks
- Enable WHOIS privacy on every domain
- Unique genuine email per domain (forward all to central inbox)
- Different contact details per domain
Hosting Diversity

Use 3-5+ different hosting providers. Mix dedicated PBN hosting + cloud providers.
DNS Diversity
- Unique DNS configuration per site (never use templates)
- Vary MX records (use different email providers per site)
- Add varied TXT records (SPF, DKIM)
- Different SSL setup methods: some via host, some via Cloudflare, some via Let's Encrypt
Use AI to generate "genuine DNS records for [domain type]" for variety.
Content and Design Diversity (Most Critical)
Never across PBN sites:
- Same WordPress theme
- Same header/footer/sidebar
- Same plugins
- Same writing voice
- Same content structure
- Same about/contact pages
- Interlink PBN sites to each other
Required per site:
- Unique layout, colors, fonts, navigation
- Different writing voice (instruct AI differently each time)
- Different tech stack (some WordPress, some HTML, some static)
- Different content types and article lengths
Build Checklist (Every PBN Site)
- [ ] Privacy policy (legal requirement)
- [ ] Contact page with working email
- [ ] About page (unique per site)
- [ ] sitemap.xml (critical for reindexing)
- [ ] SSL certificate (required)
- [ ] Pages at exact old URLs where backlinks point
- [ ] 5-10 initial content pages
Post-Launch Protocol
- Verify site loads, SSL works, sitemap accessible
- HANDS OFF for 2 weeks — Don't ping, don't build links, don't add content
- Check indexing at week 2-3 via
site:domain.com - Index fluctuation is normal (100 pages → 50 → settles at 20)
- Post-index: start light backlink building, drip-feed content (1-2 posts/month)
Critical Anti-Patterns
- All domains registered same day or same registrar
- Same hosting / DNS template / WordPress theme / plugins for all sites
- Interlinking PBN sites to each other
- All PBN sites linking to same money site
- Same anchor text from all sites
- Building links to PBN immediately after launch
- Using sitewide links from PBN
