Press Release 3-Link Architecture

Every press release gets exactly 3 links. No more. No less.

The 3-Link Architecture

Link 1: GMB Profile
  - Anchor: Brand/primary keyword
  - Placement: First 100 words

Link 2: Service Page
  - Anchor: Service keyword phrase
  - Placement: Middle third of PR

Link 3: Previous PR (chain link)
  - Anchor: Related keyword
  - Placement: Final third of PR

Why 3 links: More looks spammy. Fewer misses the daisy-chain signal. The chain structure means each new PR passes authority backward through the network.

Monthly PR Rotation (4-PR Calendar)

| Week | PR Type | Example Angle | |------|---------|---------------| | Week 1 | Announcement | New service launch, expansion, award won | | Week 2 | Industry insight | Tips, trends, expert commentary | | Week 3 | Local community | Sponsorship, local news tie-in | | Week 4 | Company update | Milestone, team addition, equipment purchase |

Compliance Checklist (Before Submitting)

  • [ ] Third-person voice throughout?
  • [ ] Newsworthy angle confirmed (not promotional)?
  • [ ] Exactly 3 links (no more, no less)?
  • [ ] All links tested and live?
  • [ ] No tracking parameters on links?
  • [ ] 400-600 word body count?
  • [ ] NAP consistent with GMB?
  • [ ] No first-person, no exclamations, no ALL CAPS?
  • [ ] Quote properly attributed?

Post-Publish Integration (Same Day)

  1. GMB post about the announcement
  2. Blog post expanding on PR topic
  3. Social media campaign
  4. Outreach: use PR as link building asset (email journalists and bloggers who cover the topic)

Keyword Strategy (3 Keywords Per PR)

  • Keyword 1: Primary service keyword (Link 2 anchor)
  • Keyword 2: Brand + location keyword (Link 1 anchor)
  • Keyword 3: Related/LSI keyword (Link 3 anchor)

Rotate keyword focus each week — don't repeat the exact same primary keyword in consecutive PRs.

Velocity Rule

1-2 press releases per quarter for a single site looks natural. More than that risks pattern detection. For aggressive campaigns across multiple client sites, stagger distribution dates.
